I dont know how to inform people of all the scams going on especially in Education. First it is very expensive to attend grad school and in order to get a job on Long Island as a teacher you need your masters degree. Then take three tests that cost 100 each and then pay another 100 to obtain the certificate and another 100 to set up a criminal file incase you decide to harm a child you are already on file geez. K well top all that off once you are done you have to keep the dam thing valid by subbing or obttaining a Teacher Position. If it expires then your shit out of luck and have to retake the very over priced tests and it beats me why a licens should expire after attening 6-7 yrs of college beats me. Well this is where the illegal part comes in most school districts on long Island fire teachers like 30 only to rehire new teachers almost every year. The school districts that do this do it to save money so that you never become ten year and then your salary can’t increase and also your liscens expires so that you have to retake all the dam test and the state makes money or goverment. There is more. Many schools are also hireing leave replacement teachers to only let them go to rehire another leave replacement teacher so that they dont have to pay a salary nor medical beneifits. This is damaging to your childs education. They are getting a new teacher every so offten. This is where your tax dollars are going right in to the supperintendents pockets as well as those scamful lawyers that you seen in the news getting double pensions well let me tell you as a sub taking care of the worlds children we dont get medical benefits to work with germmy kids it is rediculous and a scam again. The school districts hire per diem subs meaning they call when they need you also to save money so they dont have u listed as a permenit employee and have to give you medical benifits. Hush hush they call you everyday and you are a employee of their business but have been scamed out of receing medical benifits, salary, and other perks that come with employment like a sense of belonging!

Well I hope you aren’t teaching yet because your spelling and grammar are horrible! If this is what college grads are like in Long Island its no wonder there is such turnover! (that’s “tenure” sweetie – not ten year)
Your spelling is atrocious. I hope with your lack of English skills you never teach one of my children.
I belong to another profession where we need to keep our registration up annually, pay for our own continuing education ($2,300 so far this year; it’s April) and the fees for my college, associations and societies are my own as well.
If you see value in being a teacher, you will do it. If you see value in being a teacher but under these restrictions, do it elsewhere.
Best of luck1
Pay attention to the story not the spelling It was written out of anger maybe and just typed quickly! I was just trying to send a message out to the world I do know how to spell I guess your just as naive as the rest of the country pay attention to the unnecessary details fools!!!
I am a recent English graduate from NJ also looking for a teaching job. While finding a position has been fruitless and frustrating, I am fortunate in that I do not possess such a negative attitude. I will jump through as many wearisome hoops as is necessary to find a decent job because I love teaching. Maybe you should look into a different career. Incidentally, your grammar is still terrible; I mean “ungood.” Bad grammar is distracting when you are trying to persuade your readers. While sentences often contain commas, it is important to complete it with a period; that marks the end of a complete sentence unless you wish to join two independent clauses with a semicolon (see above). I believe I will continue to avoid Long Island and its inhabitants. Thank you.
Don’t feel bad. I have a daughter and 3 nieces all with degrees and none of them can find employment. Before submitting any future applications and accompanying paperwork be sure to have someone you trust with the best skills proofread your work. Don’t be offended. I have my daughter proofread for me all the time as I am ESL (English second language). The written word is tougher than the spoken! Take faith in that as the baby boomer generation retires there will be jobs.
Are you sure you want to be a teacher. You can’t spell worth a shit.
